the robins hatched a few days ago. look how cute and gross they are!
i found part of one of the shells and put it in this tiny nest that i found after a wind storm on the ground under one of the pine trees in my backyard.
the parents are extremely protective and yell at me whenever i’m within sight of the nest.

Emily I agree, and I think that all baby birds look gross! especially in the early stages of growth.
A few years ago... My Cardinal family to my surprise, had the ugliest little babies. I would have never guessed that they were baby cardinals had I not seen them in the nest...Lol!
Never-the- less, those are great pictures, your timing was good. It's a Joy to catch nature in action in our own backyards.

amy--haha, so punk. she even kinda has a feather mohawk. i'm pretty sure that is the mom because she's not as brightly colored as the other one.
vetsy--i know, doesn't it seem like the chicks should be less yucky looking? like chicken babies...they're so fluffy and cute.
