garden bloggers' bloom day, july 2010

tiger lily opened its first blossom on wednesday, so i took that as a sign that i should participate in garden bloggers' bloom day for the first time.

i'm so caught up in all the edibles that sometimes i don't even notice the ornamentals.

We've got those white edged magenta middled little wildflowers as well. I have no idea what they are.

Welcome to bloom day! I make a point of visiting commenter #13 each time which brings me to new and interesting gardens! Is that ithuriels spear or another brodeia massed in your picture there? And a little dianthus? Reminds me of my childhood - Thanks for the lovely pics! I have too many critters to dream of growing many edibles - I enjoy restoration wildlife gardening instead (if you can't beat em...).

thanks country mouse! i am not much of a flower person and haven't learned the names...i'll trust your identifications. dianthus is definitely right (goneferal--those are the magenta flowers with white borders).
