this saturday i went to the 20th annual LGBTQIA pride celebration in downtown boise. i’m so happy they brought the rally back to the capitol steps this year, rather than city hall where it’s been the last few years--i think the last time it was at the capitol building was the first year i attended, 2004. i like it because it’s much more visible, a better gathering place, and seems more official...plus it makes such a better backdrop for photos.

mistress of ceremonies minerva jayne was fabulous as always. my favorite quote: “i could be petite but i like to eat.”

^in the blue tshirt is abby (new editor of diversity & my first poetry professor) with her fiancée heidi.
we did our hair sort of matching...but i put mine in side buns instead of pigtails, because three-foot-long pigtails get in the way of photography.

this performer’s michael jackson dance moves were so spot on. you can watch a video of the performance here.
